There has always been debate on the benefits of plant-based diets, but a new study has provided evidence that these dietary preferences could help extend your life.
The research, conducted by Harvard University, followed over 70,000 individuals for an average of 25 years and compared their mortality rates to those who were following diverse types of dietary patterns. The results were striking – it was found that people who adhered to a whole-foods plant-based diet had significantly lower mortality rates than those who did not.
What makes this finding so interesting is that the risk reduction was not linked to any major lifestyle changes; just simply eliminating animal products from one’s diet led to greater health benefits.
